Matariki Celebration:
Gifts from the Stars Exhibition (8th June - 7th July) 

West Auckland Artists present a mixed media exhibition of works that reflect Matariki and the theme of "gifts from the stars." All West Auckland residents are welcome to contribute, we encourage everyone to share in the spirit of Matariki (click here for entry details). Join us to celebrate the opening on Saturday 8th June from 2pm.

Evening with the Stars (Thursday 6th June)
Dinner from 5.30, star talk from 7pm.
Piha Bowling Club, Piha Domain

Join us for an evening of stories and wonder, and enjoy soup and homemade bread made by soup maestro Claire Inwood. Gavin Logan, Vice President of the Auckland Astronomical Society, will come and give a talk on "the Universe, Stars and Matariki".  Gavin will also have a visual presentation to accompany the lecture, and weather permitting, there will be viewing by telescopes later in the evening. The presentation and telescope viewing is free.  The startalk begins at 7pm.

Delicious soup and bread (provided by Claire Inwood) will be available for purchase from the kitchen, from 5.30 onwards.
