CHRISTINE ROBSON

I am a textile artist, mother and wife and reside in Piha, my place of happy childhood memories.

I began to explore my passion for textile art and Heartfelt evolved as a means of self therapy during the time when my father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2016.

My work is constructed through a process of wet and needle felting by combining different mediums with wool, threads, fabric, weaving, knitting and embroidery. I start with a sketch and a considered plan.
My compositions evolve organically and slowly over time through a process of looking, rearranging and looking again until I feel that excitement of completion. I am influenced by my emotions, nature, music, senses and other cultures. I aim to visually captivate the viewer to feel deeply and strongly uplifted.
