I have been painting for over 25 years. My first exhibition was in the Upstairs Gallery Titirangi in 1997 and since then I have had exhibitions all around NZ.
This country of ours is unique in many ways - unlike other lands and continents which have been controlled and subdued for thousands of years, the landscape here has not been subject to man's influence and still retains pristine and unique qualities that need to be exposed and enjoyed. In my work I become absorbed in the starkness of our wilderness areas and coastlines. I try to convey the "feel" of the landscape and I use unconventional painting methods to do this. Namely spray cans, texture, resins and oil stick.
Piha is a place unmatched in its grandeur, tidal surges and imposing bluffs, - we have had a bach here for over twenty five years.
