Billy Medland-Parker
Painter
I am a multi-medium creative based in Auckland who draws inspiration from the wild west coast beaches and the Sub tropical rainforests of the Waitakere ranges.
I have developed my visual practice while studying at Elam School of Fine Arts and Mt Albert Unitec, while Majoring in Painting.
My Paintings are an investigation into medium, form and space while allowing a surrealist mode of free association to Form my visual language and landscapes.
'Are those wedding cakes?', is a question that has been asked about my paintings, but I like to use the term 'Surreal geology' to describe the towering promontories and monoliths which are often found in my works.
