Jago Neal is a multidisciplinary artist, illustrator, and photographer originally from London, now based in West Auckland. Working from a home studio that doubles as a darkroom, Jago merges analogue and digital techniques, often blending photography with drawing, collage, and painting,
He has exhibited in both the UK and New Zealand, showcasing his work in a variety of galleries and community spaces.
With a background in education, he taught Art and Photography in Auckland high schools for five years before taking on his current role as Manager of Kumeū Arts - a thriving community arts centre and gallery. There, he has curated numerous exhibitions and coordinated a wide range of creative events, contributing significantly to the local arts scene.
His first children’s book, The Magic Campsite, was self-published in 2019.
